micko454,
Jimmy was in the center page of Saltwater Sportsman mag. If your talking about the Fisherman mag That was Gary Caputi, with his pending NJ state record.

Angry Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh

Congrats on the record! I know how great it feels to catch a record fish!

I am very disapointed There is no category for junior records of tilefish
I just checked the books and the site!
I might have a heart attack
That's one more record out of reach

Nice tilefish. Is the record for the# test line you were fishing with? We caught some nice size tiles off NC last year when a slow tuna day set in and started bottom fishing.

There is no line class on Tilefish. Only All Tackle. So it won't matter what kind of line or test you use. You should check out your state record, you mihgt have already surpassed it! Good Luck!

Do you know if they were Blueline Tile or Great Northern?

Not sure but they looked like the one in your pic. We've caught them a couple times and I was surprised at the size of the first ones. Much bigger than I thought. How much did the one you are holding weigh in at?

The one that Jim Murray is holding is 15 lbs and it beat the old World record by almost 5 lbs. You'll have to make sure the species of Tile that your catching down there. Check into it and let me know.
