It's been a busy week and the fishing is hot

Well, the weather has really stunk but with good radar and a seaworthy boat, we were able to fish every day since last Sunday. The schoolie Bluefin are definitely snapping. We had trips this week where we caught 20 on light tackle and also, some big blues mixed in. Today I had 1 man and we had 18 fish, all BFT. Some were 38-40 " and all but the limit went back, of course. By the way, there are some BIG boys out there. Today, I had a green machine behind a bird on a 30 lb. outfit with 350 yds of line and something ate it and spooled the reel completely in a shorter time than it took to write this. Kind of neat but it's a shame we never saw the fish. A group of folks from Cabelas fished on Wednesday and had BFT and blues. We were covered twice by the toothy critters. Say what you want, they are also a blast on the right tackle. The fluking and sea bass are coming on great. I had them in water from 51- 75 feet and some very nice fish at that. Jack Bailey and his Father in law and BIL Kevin did a 5 hr trip yesterday and brought home some really great eating. By the way, if you haven't tried those Tsunami squids, ya gotta. I rig with the 3" ones and the fluke snap them up. I have used pink and chartreuse and they both work well. I like them even better than the B-2 Squids I used to use. I Am fishing every day but I do have 4 days open in July and several in August. i also have some days available for a 5 hr trip. Come on down and get in on this action.
