Cabaņas Maria del Mar (North Beach) is one place that I would reccomend. Make sure that you rent a golf cart. 24 hours will cost you between $50 to $65. Call Anthony Mendillo KEEN M for charters and make up charters, He will beable to set you up, many of the texas, north carolina and florida boats are pretty well booked in advanced
there are some really great places to eat, and of coarse, some so-so places. you have to do a scorpinion shot!!
order a golden margerita at Enriques Marina (ballyhoos) just about the best margerita that you can find!! Also, for beer, well the real beer of choice is "SOL" you can buy a "40" for 20 pesos. Exchange your money at one of the exchange booths in town, don't exchange at the airport or at the ferry.
If you don't like really hot sauces, stay away from the GREEN SAUCE. the red sauce is hot, the home made green sauce is the hottest. and of coarse, you have to order a whole boiled grouper (boiled in mexico is actually fried in oil)

I like the little beach bar on the north end where they have all the swings. Agreed on the South End. Awesome photo opportunity. Have fun!
