    Hawks Key is good

I like the area around Hawks Kay you have the Tarpon by the bridge and off shore flats,Bones and Permit in shore. Then you have the Big Permit and Mutton on the wrecks around the full moon and the offshore fishing at the Hump. I have kept going back to this area for the last 15 years just because I know it so well and dont want to spend the time having to get to know another area.

As far as the wife she will like the Resort with the pool and all that stuff. I would get out and see where the locals are eating though.

    Sucks about Cheeca.

Been to Hawks Cay 3 times....last winter was a little rough as the whole place was under construction. As long as that is over with, you will really have a great time.

Check out the Islander resort in Islamorada. Stayed at both Cheeca and Islander. Islander recently added a tiki bar/restaurant and up graded the pool. Rates are still great. I paid $179 for oceanfront room.

We picked the Islander for just that reason and have greatly preferred rates. If you want to stay at the Islander, CALL US PLEASE! We got the rates by buying bulk rooms...please take advantage of what we've got.
