1st day struggled with only 11, 2nd day they tore em up with 56 and 3rd day finished with a cool 29. I am very jealous that I was stuck in school studying for a neuroscience exam and couldn't make the trip.![]()

DAY 2 sounded nuts. VJ definitely knows how to fish as he's been all over the world. I had a friend fish with him a few years ago in Isla and tore em up as well.

Ya from what it sounded like, the other boats were averaging maybe 10 a day so they smoked the fleet on day 2. Dad said VJ was definitely dialed into the fish and that the mate was on top of his game too. Sounded like a great experience to fish with one of the best in the game.

I think he's on a 51' Bertram called the Challenge???? I could be wrong though.
Is your Dad from Fred. VA area?

Great report, hope its still good. I am heading to Mexico for a couple weeks and can get to Isla Mujeres before the end of the month. Anyone have any recommendations for boats to charter? Stay with local guys? Appreciate any info and comments. I am going to be in Puerto Aventuras which is south of Playa del Carmen. Fishing is not usually good there until April, I was thinking of going to Isla and staying a couple of days.
