We went in early Feb 2006. Fished with Arch on the Pelican for 2 days. 16 sails first day, rough as hell (10-12 ft.), and 24 the second, beautiful day. Had a great time. He didn't go last year, not sure about next.

here are a couple of links for Isla.

here is a link for the Swordfish who I'm sure will go.

The last few years late Jan and early Feb have been hot bite.

    Hope this helps,

    Byron

be interested in the same info. We have discussed going down Feb or so of 2009 since we are going to Key West anyway first of the month. Mr Owner wants me to take boat to Keys, then maybe to Isla - Mrs Owner is not so sure this is a great idea.

need some good info so I can make this happen. Understand it is around 340-350 nm . I am specifically curius how much fuel was used for how long a run, etc... I cruise between 22-25 kts, but obvioulsy would not run that in the dark - trying to forecast my fuel burn and need some real info as to how "you" did it.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm also looking at making this trip in Feb with 4 other guys. We would fish two days and probably have some other "fun" in Cancun for 2 days...if someone is looking to fish (2 guys) and would want to coordinate a 6-pack trip, I'm all ears.

Been there 8 seasons...10 knots all night and pick up and run in once your sure fuel is a-ok the next afternoon....or if u have faster boat......leave 4am and run the whole way if wx permits.
Don't take any guns. Have all pasports and paperwork ready for customs etc....a few bottles of Jack can go a long way too...along with a few boat T-shirts maybe...?! Where are u docking or staying?

We have been going down the past few years. We cruise at 22-23. You don't want to make the trip alone especially with a single engine boat. We just started booking our trips on the Qualifier, they are filling up fast if you are interested in days I would contact Fin as soon as you can that way he can pencil you in. If you need any info on the trip I can provide you with some.
