    Iridium Phones

Looking at getting a iridium phone, last year I had a globalstar and it couldn't hold its signal to even make a call. I have heard all good things about iridium phones and was wondering where so of you guys bought yours from and how is the service and so fourth. Thanks

Good service i can get a signal standing at my helm under the top. The first call i made with it was to my wifes cell phone while i was sitting at my dining room table. A thousand times better than Global junk what i used to have just get used to dialing 011 first.

Great phones, I've had one a year now and never lost a signal. Very dependable.

I would be VERY leery of a price of $99.....you definitely want the model 9505a and it will run you about $1K WITHOUT any air time.

iridium is great so long as it you are out at sea and not near buildings. I had trouble on land in costa rica and brazil and china when on land

I have a 9500 Motarola Iridium phone, had it for a few years now. I bought off the bay for 400 then I had to spend 400 to get it fixed last year. Works great. I have the cheapest plan they off, 37.00 a month plus the air time, works out better for me and I do not have to throw away the moinutes at the end of the year.

    John-

I did quite a bit of research and these guys had the best deal at the time I purchased mine back in April 2007.
