Has anyone used the iphone with the sst app? Does it work like they claim? I cant imagine how it would work if you have no reception offshore, wouldn't it kill the battery like any other phone? The gps would work but not the info feed is my guess. Anyone tried it?

i haven;t used it, but its not going to work offshore unless you have wi-fi on your boat. You could down loaded at the ramp and use for reference offshore, but it wont be real time like the sat weather services.
