Little late getting here with this but I had to catch-up from a vacation. Saturday Maverick took a charter out after finally recovering from the Turbo Blues and we lit them up. Started at Massey's for the first kill dropped the flat lines in and didn't get the third line in before SPLASH shortly there after a 45.5" was in the box bled out and iced, we stayed and caught and released 2 more in the same size range then headed out to slightly deeper water and found good sign so we dropped the spread out again and no sooner had everything right when SPLASH....SPLASH a pair of big fish hit both flatlines, the first one broke off the 100 pound leader that later showed sign of being bitten (Damn Bluefish) the other battle went on for just under an hour on 30 pound gear and finally the pig was close enough for the steel hook of death and a fast trip in through the tuna door, 57.5" later weighing in at 107.8 pounds. Late in the day we had 1 of 5 anglers who had not landed a tuna and we just couldn't have that so we headed back in to the teacup to find breaking tuna and proceded to play around but could not get them to hit last ditch effort we ran right through the school and pushed them down and shortly after one was all over the teaser so we brought in a bait shook him off the teaser and finally got my last man another one hooked up, while he was fighting it (presuming small bluefin) I was cleaning up and putting away and low and behold it tunred out to be a 35" yellowbird who joined the rest in the box of ice slurry. As you can tell by this story I had a co captain and I chose to go back to my roots and be the pit monkey on this trip and it sure felt good to have a great day.Hot teaser of the day rasta daisy dropper chains hot bait of the day Matanza with bally caught 4 of the 5 Bluefin.
