    Inshore fishing Cancun Mex.

I am going to Cancun in September for my 5 year wedding anniversary , mine and my wifes b-day all combined so for my birthday I want to do some light tackle fishing. Can anyone recomend a guide? I only want to do a morning trip.

    Thanks for any info.

    TRY WASSABI ?

U may want to private message "wassabi"...I think he runs a charter business out of Playa Del Carmen (accross from Cozumel). Not too far from Cancun, and imo closer to some awesome inshore (bay) fishing...i can't remember the name of one in particular that'll blow your socks off....do some google searches for Conception Bay I think it is...awesome permit fishin'....been there years ago(10-12) simply breathtaking!

Good flats fishing in Cozumel, short ride on the ferry, the guides will pick you up and take you back. Cancun area is pretty far from Ascension Bay and Punta Allen, about a 2.5 hour plus drive from cancun Airport. AB is a world class flats fishery however, and well worth the effort to get there....probably not this time with the wife for the combined celebrations.

A lesser known, good flats spot only 10 minutes from Cancun is called Isla Blanca. Check out www.tarponcancun.com for a good guide outfit that will pick you up at your hotel in Cancun.

I have a new villa well south of the Cancun area, an untouched paradise and very much a real authentic mayan vacation. Check out the area, called Xcalak, at www.xcalak.info or www.xcalak.tv my place is called La Guacamaya(now called Casa de Suenos but hasn't been updated on the sites yet). Maybe not this time, but another perhaps. World class snorkeling, diving, best permit and bone fishing in the world(grand slams and super grand slams are an everyday thing there) all in a low footprint, eco friendly national park.

If you want some more detailed info on where to go and what to do, PM me. The Yucatan is one of my favorite places on earth!
