    INDIAN RIVER WEEKEND REPORT

A couple quick reports from the weekend.

Havent posted up much reports recently due to fishing a whole lot, but ive got some time today so heres the wrap up.

Friday 7/27: got a late start friday just a quick fun trip, me and my skipper. Whent to the masseys area, trolled islanders wwwwww back. Got a short bite from a small dolphon on the short rigger. and that was it.

Saturday 7/28: left the dock at 4:15 on the April 1st, game plan was to go looking for a yellerfin. Ran to about 40 fathooms inside the baltimore when chris sees what he likes and gives the word. Lines in 20 minutes and get a peanut dolphin, lines back in and get a skippy. Work around for a little longer and pick up another small dolphin. Didnt get any more pulls for a couple hours, the word on the radio was SLOW. We start to out and just about 50 fathom area find a nice slick, then bang bar gets nailed and starts to scream, then theres nothing, About 30 minutes later the other bar gets nailed starts to scream, i mean SCREAM, dumps half a spool in no time, just as he is getting ready to hand the rod down the reel locked up and broke the bar off(PENN ). THen we work are way out a little deep and go by a lobster ball, 3 nice gaffers come out, we manage to put 2 nice mahis in the box. then a couple more peanuts attack, we box them. it got real slow after that and chris makes the call to run to the dog area. Pick up and run set in about 2:00. Miss one real big bite on a large moldcraft chugger, leader comes back chafed right in front of the lure? Lines back in and five mintues before we leave we get a 20 LB wahoo.

Sunday 2/29: Left OC with a buddy, and had 1 bluefin hooked up but pulled the hook, that was the only bite.

Overall, slow weekend, frustrating, had some bad luck on the tuners

Oh well, hopefully my luck will turn around.

Hey shane what about chunking after all any on can catch tuna trolling

One of my freinds had 15 bluefin in the 45-50 inch range on Tuesday. Anybody can troll up a couple of tuna but to chunk and catch with a million boats all anchored and trolling 50 feet from you and still catching is a feat. Heard it was a total mess for those that fished the 20 fathom lumps last weekend. Hope all is well and good luck out there and by the way what is 40 fathoms and I have heard of it but my boat does not go past 30 fathoms and that is on a good day.
