    Indian River Bluefish/B-Buoy Report

Well ive been a little busy lately guyz, havent even had time to read all the reports. Just got back from 4 dayz of fishing. Sadly no offshore yet , but its on its way.

Friday: Had a group come down and did some bottom bouncing at B-buoy. Bait was Clams/squid, picked a dozen seabass up. Had to weed through the sharks. Things were thicker than flies. Was just antoher pretty day on the water.

Saturday: I fished the IRBA bluefish tournament with a group of freinds. Left the inlet at 7:30 and headed to the 12 fathom lump. Put lines in about 2 miles short of the lump and blam. All the action you could whant, singles, doubles, triples, shoot at one point we had six or seven rods down. Sadly they seemed like someone had cut them all out of a cooky cutter, they looked like clones, all small . We had the occasional fatboy that looked a little bigger then they rest, he would get boxed, all the rest when right back in the drink. I stoped counting how many we caught after about 40. All the fish hit ponytails, didnt really matter what color. But the fish liked a brighter colors. Cruised in at 29 knots, and a nice tan line!

Sunday: We ran north of the lump hoping to find a better sized fish. Put somespoons down and some plugs, hoping for the fat 14 pounder. Well it just never hapened. Ended up with a couple fish throughout the day. But agian, pretty day.

Monday: Captain gave me the call sunday night, he had booked a last minute charter for monday, bluefish again. Get to the boat at 6, start getting ready. First charter of the year, Feels great to be in my own pit! Well we fuel up and double check every thing. Charter shows up at 7, and the skipper gives the word, LETS ROCK! break the inlet and push her up, made 20 knots(for this old hatteras that rolling). Stop at the lighship and capp gives the word to put the spread out. As im sending back my long rigger rigger, BANG, fish on , after that we picked them away slowly, as we made are way the the 12 fathom lump. Got right on the edge and bang, bang, bang, Its on. Picked at them pretty steady after that. Ended up with about 20 or 25 for the day. Trip ended a little early when the port side motor overheated , Impeller problems. Hot baits of the day was ORANGE HOOCHIES.

Very soon its going to be time to kill some tunas, i can wait! Next week im headed to OI to learn form some of the best. I can barely sleep

Way to get warmed up for the season.

Watch out for those big ole yellow eyed bastards, they're always looking to treat your finger like a finger mullet.
