Had my brother in law and his friend mark out today for a little striper action.. got down to the boat a little late around 6am and started working on getting those 10 yr old 2 strokes to warm up and prrrrrrrrrrr like the kittens they are..
i consider my engines humans. 30 degrees, ice in the lagoon, and i come down like the damn president and start crankin those biotches like no tomorrow.. they got their hats, scarves and booties and starting prrrrrrrring like a kitten hitting every note as they suck down my now CHEAP fuel!!!!
finish loading up the rods and off we go.. skimming thru the ice feeling like a damn king crab fisherman on a mild day the ice cracks, crumbles, and shakes.. we break threw it all and begin to head out of the lagoon.
a typical day as i have been way to busy to put in my electronics and nothing turns on but the vhf with a damn wet mic and willl not transmit a thing.. i look at my brother in law and his friend and say F*(K it.. been doing it blind for years!! lets rock and roll..
here comes the first set of channel markers and with the slow wake bouy in sight i smoothly push the motor past idle.. we hit the bouys and slam bamn thank you maam the boat flys up on plain and off to the races with snots burried deep into my face at 35kts across the barnegat bay heading for the inlet.
we come cruising around barnegat light to see nothing but birds covering the entire inlet like a blanket.. it was def a site but people continue to fish them hard and did not realize they were feeding off of bait and junk fish on the north jetty rocks as the water pushed below the rocks.. so we tightly turned the corner of the north monument and headed nne..
as we came to where i have seen fish this time of year before i have no one around me as of now...got all my gear set up and ready to rumble with all of my new umbrella rigs that i made the night before!! the hot color was green and deadly dicks really produced some fish..
lines went out and no more than 5 minutes later we had both rods go off.. get em up and double header on one and a nice fat keeper on the other..
we continued to pull the rigs away from the fleet who was jigging and continued to just pound on these fish.
the fleet looked like mother f-ing walmart on black friday.. it was completely insane..
we trolled from about 7 am until 11am and ended up with some serious numbers..
We kept 4 keepers for the table as we didnt need that many between three of us and ended up release 42 bass!!!
thats right.. 42 freaking bass in 4 hours!! it was completely insane and that doesnt even count the 30 fish that came un buttoned of short bit the rigs!!
it was all in all a great day and i am waiting for the pics from my friend to be emailed to me and i will post it up!! also think we got like 5 minutes of videO!!!!!
