Incredible Marlin Bite in OC

Today was off the hook. 14 out of 17 boats fished the OC Marlin Club Labor Day tournament today and caught over 84 whites.....WOW Here is a picture from "C" dock at Sunset Marina.

Where were they mostly caught?

The bite was around 700 square. about 80 miles from OC.

I got there late as we were trying to catch a tuna or dolphin for the meatfish calcutta in the Labor day tourney. From 11:30 to 3:00 we went 5 for 7.

Some of the impressive numbers:

Intrinsic: 11
Wound Up: 10
Cyntinory: 9
Pumpin Hard: 8 or 9
DASea: 8

Several 3's, 4's and 5's

We also got into the bite around 12 today and ended up going 3 for 7 on whites from 12:00-4:00. It was pretty amazing to see all those boats in such a small area all backing down at once.

The final tally was 97 with all the flags at the "C" dock and some others scattered throughout the Marina including a few brave soles in CC that made the run out to the white bite.

don't get in a big hurry, fished it today caught 3 saw 6, really slowed down from yesterday. it was a slow pick by the time we got there. didn't see alot of smoke gettin blown today.

We fished inshore looking for somekind of meat. I guess we should have just ran deep. We ended up short of the Hambone where we 0-6 on good bites that just did'nt stay stuck. Never had that happen before so I've been over anylizing this one all day. It was nice to see all those flags line up though.
