Im doing my senior term paper on sportfishing/saltwater fishing, and I would like to use of some of your opinion in it about the sport both good, and bad. I want to show my english teacher its more than some guys going out on the water, catching fish and getting drunk. This isnt Redneck fishin. I want her to see its a passion to people no matter what we catch

Doug, I wrote my college admissions essay on the subject. An aspect often overlooked by many non fishing people is the life lesson's and advice that one can learn from fishing. If you have the length to, show how fishing builds characters and shows one what they are made of.

Cool topic. I just wrote a similar paper for a Composition class at the University of South Florida.
Some things to consider:
1) Discuss the science involved in sportfishing. Incorporate all the recent research in conservation. Include information about new electronic equipment (3D imaging, digital radar, digital sounders etc).
2) Discuss the cost of sportfishing. Multi million dollar boats fishing in tournaments that cost tens of thousands of dollars to enter.
3) Discuss the global nature of sportfishing. Many of us travel the world over in pursuit of gamefish, reflecting the passion we share for the sport.
4) Discuss the sportsmanship in sportfishing. Though we are all looking for our own personal success, we also enjoy watching our friends and peers catching big fish.

I second what BOX just said. Bring it back. You almost don't really need to ask for info, if you look for just a little, you can find thousands of post on everything you are looking for.
I earned a 100% on my paper last semester on the global affect of sportfishing... just one count of a student's project grade.
