All this talk about this meeting with congress in washington. Its about this,
1.Marty wont be allowed to sell blue fin, which he shouldnt be allowed to sell anyway. All he does is pay for a crappy truck with the money he makes anyway. Bluefin are worth more than that. He wants to be a commercial fisherman with the protection of being a recreational. I dont agree with it, shut him down.
2. Charter guys, well back at the dock at 9 am telling you to get lost aint gonna work anymore. If its a recreation, why arent we out until 4:00 pm? I know I caught my limit but.......I want to fish.
3.Tournaments, HA! None of the promoters of these events could give a shit about marlin, even congress is smart enough to figure this out. Its about selling boats....and fuel....and if your ego can be stroked, yea.......for a short guy, today your king. Nice fish. But congress is watching. And since its worth a million dollars, well we just have to regulate it.
4. So go to all you dumb meetings in washington. Im going fishing in the canal no matter what. I only want 2 fish. I may get caught taking them.....I dont care. I have a full arsenal of options that I cant wait to employ. You see, I dont want to be like marty......I aint looking to sell them and then act like Im just a regular guy. He is part of the problem. I dont want to sell yachts, acting like I care about the marlin......Um, guy harvey would you please cut that fish open? Its all research.

Alex i organized a bus as you prob. know i spent more than 30hrs of my own time getting it done....and thank god for the local business that payed for the bus. alot of guys might have had different views....but WE ALL SHARED the same common love and goal FISHING. When you live in a coastal community year round you see how it works first hand......WITHOUT the OCEAN we're ALL out of work.

so get out of the kitchen and put away your spoon and stop stirring the pot just to piss guys off a lot of people dedicated there time to DO SOMETHING and that's the first start....if you had something to say you should have gone to d.c.

dude, you couldn't even be an effective middle level manager @ NOAA , much less a private company with a few employees, or a multinational. you contribute nothing of substance, nothing that can make a difference to any objective, nothing that furthers or encourages innovation.

Hey F-stop Not for nothin but if you gave a shit about fishermen you would come out to the canyon to tow members in. Its all about the money right. Going to the canyon eats up to much time and doesn't turn enough profit. Got it. Same thing with the tournaments and the marina and the dealers and the government. I'm with you I want the government to stay the F out of my fishing. If you want to get something done in washington you need to be connected to oil somehow. Figure out a way to only use Hugo oil for the next ten years in the marine industry and Exxon will set up the meeting with Obama himself. I hate the lack of originality and execution of things like this with the marine industry.
