My first choice would be a 31 Cape Horn w/ twin Zuki 300's, several here for 119k or less 09 models. 2010 models have a deeper cockpit, hard top and more room inside, beautiful, simple boat, period.

Second choice would be a Bluewater 2850, huge boat plenty of storage, set up deck not a problem and it can be loaded with Zuki 300's also.

Regulators are very nice, quality and great ride, very popular here in Eastern NC, but their step up deck is right at the front of the t top, if you are over 5'11 plan on wearing a hard hat as the top will leave a lasting impression.

2002 Pro Sports 2860 CC Pro Kat, One owner well maintained Attorney's boat. This 2002 was purchased new in October of 2002. Fishes 6 to 8 in comfort. This is one of the best off shore fishing machines you can own. 16 rod holders; dual outriggers; built in tackle boxes; twin built in fish boxes; 40 gallon dual pump lighted live bait well; windlass; lots of storage space; fold down tower. Always lift kept and well maintained. This cat has a custom built hard top over the center console with 2 additional removable Bimini Tops, one at the bow and one at the stern. These additional Bimini tops are a true blessing for the Florida summer fishermen. Custom engineered and built Captains seating for 2 people. Bow seats 4 comfortably and there are two fold down seats at the stern. This boats has seating for 8 people. With 252 gallons of fuel this boat not only has that amazing catamaran ride but also has an incredible range getting approximately 1.8 MPG at about 35 MPH with a range of approx. 450 miles. The Furuno color mapping GPS and fish finder coupled with a Furuno radar that is linked so you can put your radar cursor on another fishermen and come back to his exact spot later. The dual pump live bait well means you will never lose your bait. The lighted room in the center console has plenty of room for a portable potty, ice chest, tools, supplies, clothing and more. The spacious storage under the bow seating is great for safety equipment and there is more lockable storage space in the bow behind the windlass and 2 huge storage spaces in the deck on each side of the center console. (This is where I keep an extra anchor, extra life preservers, a full tool box for emergencies, and extra cases of water for those long trips out. This boat has caught a lot of fish that were easily stored in the huge insulated in deck fish boxes (hundreds of pounds per trip with pictures to prove it) and has been well taken care of. email me at tetasgrnde@aol.com for even more pictures. NOTE: The pictures show this boat with and without the easily removable Bimini Tops (I have taken the off and put them back on alone easily.) Buyer also gets a Furuno GPS loaded with great fishing numbers for the West Coast of Florida (after I copy them).

Thanks for all the input, now what about O/B Engines?

Appreciate the response to this post. A lot of great information to digest.

I see a lot of talk about recommended boat manufacturers. What about the outboard engine of choice? A few comments about the Suzuki's grabbed my attention. What makes these better than the Yahama 4-strokes or Evinrude E-Tecs?

I have twin Honda 4 stroke 225's and my buddy who has the exact same boat has twin Yamaha 225's and I have fished a lot on both boats. The Yamaha's are quieter but the the Honda's have more torque and have a much faster top end speed. The Honda's have never needed anything other than the yearly service.

As for the A-hole above laughing at us going out with 6 to 8 fishermen remember that here in our part of the Gulf we mostly bottom fish so when we find a hot spot we anchor and start loading up the boat. Yes, with 6 guys the occasional AJ will wrap another line but it's not common.
