I would like to suggest Southport 28'6" with a 10'6 Beam...Perfect for your needs....this boat would eat up the South Florida seas and make your run across the stream a piece of cake....Check em out.....

Just saw you didn't want diesels, I would go with a regulator. Not as fast as some, but heavier and rides awesome. Also is set up in more of an offshore style than a run and gun kingfish boat like a contender or some of the others mentioned.
everglades is a nice ride and has nice storeage
Before making a decision, you might want to check out an Albury Brothers 27'. Feels much larger than a 27', and has a very low center of gravity. It's built like a tank and delivers a dry and very smooth ride. Not a speed demon but

The Southport 28 is also supposed to have a really nice ride, although I haven't personally fished off one.
Good luck.
For the money, this one is hard to beat - a '09 Seahunt 35 w/ twin V300 w/ 425 hrs at $129k:

A few other interesting listings from that site:
Cape Horn 31 w/ F350's at $101k:

Fountain 32 might be another one to consider, but would mean only Merc power:

Also agree the Contender 31T is a great one to look at. You've got alot of great options in that size/price range.
Hey Bud,
If I had my choice, it woukld be the Sea Vee. I just sold mine to a fellow in Miami. I love the boats! There built like a strong. The Triton 36 in the for sale section is a tank but I understand you guys dont want triples. I know the boat well though if you change your mind, The guy needs to sale with a new baby here, Could get a steal with alot more boat if you considered it. Good luck with your choice.
Ace
Regulator- I owned an 04' 26 FS with twin 225 Yamahas and the boat was awesome, the quality of construction and ride for a 26' boat was exceptional. If I was only fishin S.FL and the Islands I would be fishin a Regulator. I would ride em all and make sure it's a little snotty ( remember the stream can stand up real quick ) the decision will get much easier to make after a few test ridesGood Luck !!
by the way what part of Dallas you from ???
