Ice Water in Toms????

Been following water temps for a few weeks in prep for mako season... Still looks cold and things can change fast. Really havn't beenpaying attention to the north too much but noticed something today. At first I thought it was a misread then after verifying from a few other sat passes that there is a spot suddenly upwelled near Toms canyon...
Almost seems to be a big swirl of cold cold cold water with one area dipping down to like 47? Whats that all about? Do you guys have some freaky storm going on up there that I don't know about?
Looks like all around has cooled a couple degrees over the last couple... Its going the wrong direction...

that the one you are referring to. It is a little east but can have a huge effect

No storms, warm water just hasnt moved in yet.

Deep - it has been a cold spring with a lot of fresh water runoff in the NE. Looking like a late and far offshore sharking season so far with the current conditions. Time will tell.

Flat that map looks off... There is a double flaring eddy pushed in there from someplace that was spilling cold north and south from where it hit the edge. Water was colder there than in new england... 47 in mid may in the canyons!

where did ou guys got the sat images from?? i trying to get sat images of the caribean area (Puerto Rico) to see water temps. not easy so far...\\\

Unfortuantely the places I get my sat shots from only deal from Florida north. That one is from rutgers university's cool room. There have been several threads regarding temp services here I'm sure if you search through some threads you can put together a list of ones our people use and perhaps some of them stretch into the carribean... Hope that helps some...
