Those remoras often change color to match whatever they are stuck onto....Ive seen em white before when they are on the bottom of a billfish or something even whiter like a manta ray....
If you take them off and stick them in a bucket they will change color slowly... I am guessing that remora was stuck on the Bottom of that Blue...and recently before you took the picture he got shuck off and quickly grabbed back on (they will grab back on so fast it's amazing) and hadn't had time to adjust colors yet.... |

A remora is a fish that attaches to large predatory fish like sharks, marlin, etc. to feed on the scraps that the larger fish leaves. Bums of the sea.

The dreaded sneaker heads! Common scavengers as well as pescatorial vacuum cleaners. They eat leftovers as well as feces and in some cases play the part of Hazel cleaning their host species.
Those things are down right odd looking. The Florida boys will sometimes play with the things by sticking them to their t-tops and stuff just to mess around with them. I have heard that they will leave two nasty marks if you slap one onto your buddy's back...one on your buddy's back and one on your face when your buddy punches your lights out. |

I bet that thing would leave a heck of a hickey. Try explaining that to the wife. I've been fishing all day I swear!

Next time you come across one of them. Net it, throw it in the live well, bring it back to the dock and sell it to a tropical fish store. Why? I have NEVER in my life seen an "albino" remora with pink eyes let alone BLUE like it appears to have in the pic...or even heard of one before now.
That has gotta be super rare to come across. |
