    I caught you a delicious Christmas bass - 12/18/2008

It's the holidays, so I traded the bowtie and suit for a set of Grundens slickers and a trip on the Gambler out of Point Pleasant Beach.

The 5 AM alarm clock is always worth it to catch 12 striped bass, including one 28.01" keeper, on diamond jigs cast in front of the drift and steadily cranked back to the boat.

The biggest fish on the boat was at least twenty pounds, and the same lucky angler also caught a ten pound codfish, just in time for BACALA!

We had steady fishing through the end of the incoming at the Shrewsbury Rocks, and then as the outgoing really started to move, the fish reappeared

Capt. Bob kept us out over an extra hour because "it's so calm and relaxing out here."

If you were wondering, my Christmas bass is currently being swabbed in Korean hot sauce.
