Husband & Wife blue marlin

A friend of mine and his wife left MHC on Thursday last week to carry their boat to Hatteras for the Holiday and weekend. Bear in mind it's just the two of them on board a 53' SF. On their way up, they are working the 100 fa line pulling 3 lures and sure enough hook a blue one. The Lady is not comfortable handling the 80 lb tackle therefore the Capt gives up the helm once he knows the fish is hooked good. Capt clears lines, angles, leaders, and cleanly releases the 200 lb blue while his Lady is handling the boat. Not bad for a short crew huh? Congrats to the Capt & Lady!!!!

That's exactly the kind of crew I love! Instead of fishing a crowded boat with people who don't communicate, it's better to fish with the people who you know you can work with; the ones who you don't need to talk to because they can read your mind; the ones where you only need two people to run the boat because you know you can work around, with, and for each other, and still land your fish.

This is the kind of team that I can only hope to one day have!
