    Huge Lauderdale daytime sword..

    While getting the boat ready for the tournament season down here at Merritt"s, I was lucky enough to watch this guy pull in to weigh this thing. 1 hour fight, 1 hour to get it in the boat. Had to gut about 50 lbs of her to get her through the door on the small commercial boat. The fish went 693 on a certified scale and had a 115 inch fork length.

    WOW, that is the sword of a lifetime right there! Bet the eyeballs were about the size of softballs! You wouldn't catch me eating a bite of the meat off of a sword that old though.

    That pic was taken at the Merrit yard in Pompano. The tail of that big ass sword is still floating around by the transom of one of the sweetest boats ever built, the 43 Merrit. Not sure who actually caught the fish though.
