    Huatuclo vs. PV

Here is the deal we are planning our honeymoon and are considering going to Huatuclo, Mexico or PV.

I am looking for something all-inclusive for the Misses and somewhere that I can get some surf or kayak fishing in at least a couple hours every day. My preferred species is Roosterfish and will be down in July.

If I was going down just fishing I would go to PV as I could pursue Cow Tuna and Roosters from a boat, but not having that luxury as it is my honeymoon and I have to spend most of my time with her. What would affoard me the best opportunity and access to fishing from shore or kayak for Roosters?

I will be getting at least two days offshore fishing as well, maybe 3, but 4 would be pushing it.

Thanks for any help or advice. PEZ

    Hey Pez,

Don't you mean you want to spend most of your time with her instead of have to. Usually the have to part comes several years into the marriage

Yes, Yes thats exactly what I mean or at least should mean.LOL The thing is I hate to fly and I have a rule if I fly I fish. I live in Michigan(maybe not for long, Orange Beach,AL here I come) so I don't get to fish the Pacific much, where I will see her all the time. My marriage is doomed already isn't it. PEZ

    huatulco

I have spent time in Huatulco in Dec-Feb and in September and have not heard anything about roosterfishing while I was there. I fished inshore and offshore in my times there. Inshore I found snappers, grouper, and sierra. offshore in September they had a few sails and marlin and I heard people talking about tuna but we never caught any. I think their prime season for sails is around June.

The charter fleet is not up to the level of PV. Mostly pangas with a few sport-fishermen. The fishing level of the crews is not up with PV either.

As for the land area of Huatulco. It is real Mexico. Nothing like PV, Cabo, Cancun and Ixtapa. good Hotels and great people who are proud of their part of Mexico. The locals are not dealing with massive amounts of Gringo tourists and they treat you like friends and not just fat wallets. Taxis that charge fair rates and great Local food.

If you end-up choosing Huatulco PM me and I can give you the number of a fishing guide there.
