I'm thinking I may take a quick trip very soon. I've never fished the Bahamas, Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Wahoo are the main prize for the next few months without a doubt.
wahoos, to snapper bite great, you just have to watch the weather.
I'd be up for a piece of that action!
watching the weather is right...we just got back from a cruise down there and the waves were 4 feet + everyday with 20+ kt winds...probably closer to 5 or 6 footers...but its hard to judge the height that far above the water...I do know all the fishing excursions on the cruise had been canceled in all our ports of call...hope this helps...
watch the weather!, know the bahamas chain and the "Banks" you will be running on or fishing next to..... , know your fuel and your boat!, load your boat properly... , know thier rules, you have to have a yellow customs flag, you have to run a bahamian courtisy flag!, when you get there someting called 'Island time' takes place so do not get impatient with them...!, have a great time and the fishing rules are great now and enjoy your time over... you also get a second clearence within 90 days still. watch the weather! give yourself a days 'window' on crossing the gulf stream combined with a wind can make you miserable!
As everybody has already said weather is the key but if you can hack it they bite better in the seas. As the states have seen the coldest weather in quite some time... that being said its all good news. Wahoo actively feed in the colder weather and the fronts have brought it this year. We have seen water temperatures 3 degrees lower already this year . The wahoo have been chewing for us so far this year in our first batch of trips in the Abacos. Email me direct if you have any questions.
