How's the bite been out of MHC?

Just curious to know how the offshore bite has been in the past few days out of Morehead City...looks like the weekend will be pretty nice, so planning to get out a bit. Any info greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The next bite on a jig.
Be ready for small dolphins and maybe a sail if your lucky number is drawn.

I just got done making 10 naked rigs myself.

How far out are you having to go to get into the dolphin? 14 mile buoy? I am looking at going camping next weekend and thought we might run out to catch some dolphins if its a short run.

Mahi bite has been a lil slower this week around here.

There have been plenty of shots at Sails and even a few Whites.

Last week the Mahi bite was wide open with the bialers.

That can all change over night though as you know.

Plenty of dolphin have been caught the past couple of weeks from 12miles out right up to the beach. I'd say you can get them close to home if you're just looking for a tug.

The 14 bouy is a bit more than 14 miles out...'almost' double that.

    Best of luck.
