    How much anchor line needed for chunking hotdog, hambone and sausages.

    What is the recommended amount of anchor line needed for chunking these areas and amount of chain.Thank you, Nellie

    It will depend on a number of factors, such as conditions, type of boat, type and size of anchor, etc... That said, I could get by on a calm day with 300' or rode and a 20' section of chain on my 26' with a Danforth anchor that was a bit oversized for my boat. That gave ne just under a 3:1 scope.

    The average depth there is 100-120 ft, so three times the depth should be your rule of thumb.
