The tour is nothing more than professional putters.

And Sea...Tiger CAN'T hit a 240 yd fade with a 4 iron unless it is down wind or he has a flyer lie. Anyone can hit it at that level, what Tiger can do is judge the amount of grass he is going to catch between the clubface and ball better than the others to get it to land soft.
But what is Tiger's hookup ratio dropping back to a White?
Just trying to get back on topic. The point I was trying to make in the post is tha some people don't care how you catch as long as there is meat on the deck and then there are those that treat it more like a sport, an art form if you will. I just believe that guys that try to fish by the rules have a greater respect for the game.

To a degree your right. Still the caddy can hand the player the club. Just ease em up a bit and let the mate pass the stick.
BTW the last time I played golf I shot a 71... Second hole had even more

Galazio, I know alot of boys that can strike it pretty well too, I just don't know too many that can do it when it "HAS" to be done, that was my point about the mental game, my point with 240 yards was to get a chuckle not get your blood pressure up, sorry, I played the game for 20 years and gave it up due to neck and back issues, greatest game ever invented by mankind no doubt about that, sorry if i stepped in your line

On a more serious note, I do not have a problem with these rules, the biggest difference I see is when you add the local rules, hook & pass for example, If this wasn't allowed in the "Big Kill" tournaments, they would soon fizzle out IMO because the majority of the anglers as Tunakiller mentioned fish a couple of days a year and it's just a crap shoot for them anyway, in the sailfish tournys I've fished in Florida, it is a different mindset because you are hookin and catchin yourself, you cant' hire a mate to do it for you, I am not saying one is better than the other, I think it comes down to personal preference, but I will say it is alot more sporting for me to be doin it myself. We are all going to pick and choose the one's we want to fish anyway and people will pick the one's that are most condusive for them and that includes picking the "RULES" as well. As usual to each his own !!

Hey Sea... have ya heard or seen this before?

"where do you think it went out?.... right here? I'll just throw one down"

... 3 holes later... "pick it up, that's good"

...and then at the grill that afternoon: "whatcha shoot?" "4 over"

"well you got me by 3, that 3 bennies"....

and then a 76 get posted.

2 months later in the Championship, the story changes to "I didn't have my A game today" after posting a pair of snowman when it counted.

Galazio, Oh Yea heard most of them in 20 years, It's funny how the little things like the "RULES" in that game have a away of bringing some folks back to reality!! Quick story- years ago I was playin in the Friday game at my club and one guy on an elevated par 3 ropes one into the woods behind the green off the tee, we are all lookin for his Titleist 2 with 2 red dots, and can't find his ball, finally HE FINDS HIS BALL and it chips out onto the green, my partner goes to remove the indicator stick and OH SHIT- I don't have to tell you what he found, needless to say he was banned from that game, what do they say cheaters never ____
