its (lengthxgirthxgirth)/800 not Girth x 2 x short length (lower jaw) /800
multiplying the girthx2 vs girthxgirth gives completely different answers
length is always the short length (lower jaw to fork)
nice fish

LT, Congrats. on the Blue Girl !! makes no difference what she weighed, most folks will never get to be that close and personal with one in their lifetime, Pretty Work
Here are two more pics with a telephoto lens. Note the rainbow spreader bar draped over her. She hit that first and almost took the outrigger off when it hung up. Two minutes later, she hit a marlin lure in the middle of the spread. Almost spooled us twice on a 70W. Btw, notice the red paint from the boat on her. One more thing, the end of her bill was really banged up - is that common? She didn't hit our boat to my knowledge. We got the spreader bar back. Thanks for all of the comments.
She is a nice one for sure. Look at how wide the base of the bill is. 120 inch Lower jaw to fork of the tail would put it in the 700 lb range depending on how she carried her weight back toward the tail.A great catch and release.
