Hot and Cold

Last week was hot and the fishing down right sucked. Coughing up one sail a small dolphin and a bunch of bonitos during a five day stretch. Then it got cold and heated up the fish. The Silver Sailfish Derby was on and on Thursday they took 659 fish for 46 boats. I heard the radio going nuts and blasted out going 8-12 in short order. Friday was still cold and i figured i'd intercept the fish closer to my home inlet of Palm Beach. Mistake..... 0-3. I could hear a bite 25 miles north but couldn't justify burning the boss mans fuel on just a fun run. Yesterday they moved even farther up the line to 40 or more above us and I didn't even turn on the radio today at the dock.
Have thursday - sunday on the 43 this week then yard then stuff for the islands again...

Some time in Feb I guess... Got a few more local trips and then the yard first. Today I loaded on our 4 to 20lb outfits... 2 x 4lb, 4 x 6lb, 7 x 10lb, 8 x 12 (4 trolling 4 set sail), 12 x 20lb (4 trolling, 4 for sail, 4 for grouper jigging, 3 x 30 spin, 4 x 30 trolling... Heavier gear gets loaded on before we go...
