Hooooray for the Washington
Fished 10/5 on "Darlin" with Doug @ the helm. Along for the ride were Donny and Jule (Predator), Pino, and Raymond R. Lines out inside the tip and had a 4 pack blow up on both long's and shorts. Didn't really know what we were fishin for yet so we did have some mono out. 2 mono's broke off, and 2 wires came tight. Pulled 1 off after couple minutes, and the last of 4 came off boatside. Oh no, dont let this set the tone for the rest of the day. Put all wire back out and managed a steady pick of hoo's for the rest of the day. Ended with 5 for 10 bites. Cool part of the day was when the biggest fish of the day got into site @ the boat, it was not a hoo but a white marlin. Very nice surprise. Fish never jumped, and sounded right after it was hooked. Hot bait for the day was none other then the "big heavey". This rig smoked the bluefins early in the season, and looks like it is going to end the season in the same fashion. Great day, thanks to Doug.
