Wow. They just had some european yahoo reeling a conventional upside down and backward.

Saw that! Maybe he was dyslexic?![]()
You know what i noticed that's very very interesting?
Those are all re-creations but with actual fish. The video of the Great White from the beach looked original. However, the Gar and the Tiger Fish were re-creations that looked like they caught them for the video.
I noticed the reeling of the conventional upside down as well.
i've got to think that those knuckleheads who caught the alligator gar can't be too proud either. They wind up wrestling the thing to the beach and killing the damn thing when they're supposed to be tagging and releasing. Idiots like that don't do the rest of us any favors.
I wound up turning the show off. Kind of disappointing.
Did anyone notice the first guy was using a spinning reel and in the next scene a conventional reel. On what was supposedly the same fish! Actually I think it was very dissapointing.
what a bunch of idiots, I wonder how many other things they fake
the show was crap. they kept trying to hype up trash fish and were worried more about "drama" and "excitement" than an actual fishing show. Very disappointed, thought National Geographic was better than that.
I saw it and it seemed to me that it was exactly the type of show that someone who knows absolutely nothing about fishing would make and they made it using what appeared to be "expert fishermen" who also knew absolutely nothing about fishing. The gar pictured was foul hooked in the back of the fish. The guy on the tigerfish used both spinning and conventional rods gear on the supposed same fish, used the conventional rod upside down, and the tigerfish pictured was about 30#- but they called it 60#, and even at 60 it wouldnt be a trophy specimen of a tigerfish. The bit with the shark illustrated idiotics at its best. They made the guy sound like a hero for paddling a shark bait out on a surf board. I thought the guy was an idiot and then the whole bit about the fighting chair on the truck- seriously? The guy in the amazon caught two completely average fish that they made out to be some scientific freaks of nature that were worth travelling half way around the world for.
I saw the old hooked show before this new series and it actually had trophy fish in it and had a piece on black bart. That show was good. The show I saw the other night was a joke. If you are gonna do a show about fishing get someone who knows something about fishing. There are a MILLION fish stories out there and 999,000 of them are way more interesting than anything I saw on monday night. I'm sure I will be glued to the television next week when they go fishing for the elusive stingray.
