I had 2 half day charters today, and the fish were CHEWING. On the morning trip, the bluefish were biting hard in 20 ft. of water between Lockwood Folly and the big hill. We had numerous double and triple headers, keeping 15 and releasing another 15 or 20. We also caught our first spanish of the year. On the afternoon trip, the bluefish were still biting hard, but with a much smaller class of fish. Out of 15 or so in the first 30 minutes, we decided to head offshore a little bit and catch and release some "endangered" sea bass. I wouldn't hesitate to say we landed somewhere between 100 and 150 bass, with the majority keeper size, and quite a few over 2 lbs. All in all, not a bad day, with excellent fishing, and beautiful weather. I have 2 more trips tommorow, but don't know if the weatherman will let us go. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
