Yesterday morning, we headed to the blackjack in search of dolphin. Upon arriving at 7:15, we made our first pass across the numbers, and it was on. 3 fish, 4 fish, 5 fish on. #6 comes greyhounding in from the side and nails the flatline, then busts off. #7 hits the planer bait on the way up, but never gets hooked up. We're covered up. We get the first 5 in, all between 15 and 20 lbs., then resest the spread. Nothing for awhile, so we head deep, out to 100 fathoms, then back without so much as a sniff. Once we get back in, the flatline gets nailed, 12 lb. blackfin, then both longriggers, 2 more dolphin in the box. We kept at it for the rest of the day, with 1 fish here, 2 fish there, and ended the day with a dozen dolphin up to the low 20's, and one tuna. The weather was beautiful, and the fish were hungry, what a day. I have a couple of half days toward the end of the week, I let everyone know what goes down. I should have some pics from yesterday tommorow, so I'll post them then.
