Hey all you guys that Charter in OC

and everywhere else for that matter. Do yourself a favor and get in touch with you favorite Charter Captain and open the lines of communication now.
The few charter boats that were gettin out were banging their limits of yellofin and bluefin as early as May 11th last year. Catches of 45 and 50 tunas were not unheard of and the first Big Eyes were caught on June 1st.

Now I am not saying that is going to happen again this year but I do know this. While the Tuners were snappin like croakers on hot june day in the bay, most of the charter boats were sittin at the dock waiting for the phone to ring. The best boats fill up in July but some of the best fishing can be in May and June. Call your captains and tell them to holler when the bite gets good. You won't be disapppointed.

I know there are a few of us that are planning on making an exploratory run in May when the weather breaks. Hell the MOJO was talking about going easter weekend if the weather would have let him. Right now my first booking is May 19th, and it is a bluefish trip.

As soon as I hear reports I will post up some info.

Franky - My boat is 90% ready. I will be going at the first window of opportunity that shows any water within 100 miles. I am so sick of this crap. Geez their were white caps in my toilet this morning. Its still blowing a good clip here today.

You better head out in May if you plan on catching 700 tunas again this year.

Joe put the boat in the water either last day of March or first day of April. We got home from MHC on April 2nd. Neither one of us have moved since.

Joe is good, but even he can't catch them between the pilings
