Hello everyone.....
I am new to the forum and wanted to say hi. I can't wait to talk fishing with someone other than my wife who doesn't give a shit.
Also, has anyone used kites for sharking?

Welcome Aboard!!!!
I never used kites for sharking, but there is always a first!!!
Welcome Aboard Tailhooked. Where do you fish out of.
welcome to the site
I fish out of Ocean City Maryland in the summer. In the spring and fall I fish out of Lewes Delaware.
I fish out of Barnegat light,NJ. In the states. We have been using kites for years sharking. They work pretty well. Just a couple draw backs. 1st, it runs out the other side of the boat when drift fishing, away from the slick. But, plenty of sharks swim through the slick past the boat and see the bait on the kite. 2nd, sharking we generally use large baits and it is really had to run a big bait off the kite without having it fall. We are pretty much stuck using small fillets or a smaller live bait. But, we still have gotten some nice makos on it and a lot of blue sharks. Haven't had to many other types of sharks come up on it.
Welcome to the board!
welcome aboard
In regards to the kite sharking, that was my biggest concern. The size of the bait you would be limited to.
