    In Hawaii

We've been using #6, except with a nickel-plated Sampo swivel, out here in the middle of the Pacific for over 30 years on every gamefish we have, and have NEVER experienced anything even close to a failure. It's all we use where it counts on the heavy tackle and we don't want to run the risk of losing whatever is connected (or bites) on the business end. We use #8 on the lighter gear for schoolie tuna but nothing but #6 when going for the big game. That's just how we do it.

    Scott Boyd

I was working @ Bill Boyd's when this one came out...I was told Scotty was behind it, along with John Hargaden @ Rite Angler I think...circa 1995 +/-.
Tried it...was not for me...too heavy and bent too easily...did not run straight either...kinda snaked through the water.

Getreel...I'm surprised Fred Archer has not chimed in here...he's mentioned in the past how he'd run an x-small (moldcraft) bird on his swivel connections...think it was fred(??).

Put me down for a #1.

Any way to get diagrams of how swivels are put together...especially the Yozuri, Momoi and Ausie styles?

    # 9 swivel are magnitized and lose tere magnetic properties very quickly. I have seen them open twice losing a mako and a tuna. Never again

    Thats what we use, #8.

Tried non-ball bearing versions of that style snap before and lost a nice mako, the nicest mako i have ever had on in fact. Swivel came right apart.

Besides that, you REALLY need to change those swivels after a couple trips

    1) Salt gets in them and they bind

    2) The metal fatigues after a couple big fish and they wire part will break, take my word for it.
