54, you are heading there at the right time, you should see some bills for sure , you can pull dead baits or lures and catch em, pay attention and watch the fleet or find the birds, typical Bahama fishin! Are you fishin the BBC's or just fun fishin ?

May is a good month...get a good chart of the area...If you go east, concentrate your efforts at the Canyons, Jurassic Park, Mushroom, Bridge and Cape Town Pocket...Pay attention to bottom structure, temp and surface action...If you go NW towards Walkers, hit the deep canyons between 700-1200' (+/- 100')...Serious fish can be had at any one of those locations.

in marsh harrbour, there are only two spots you need to know. Fish 5-10 miles off of the HOPEtown light, and south in the hopetown pocket. if you dont really know how to rig and pull baits, just pull medium to large sized plugs and you'll be fine. Look for the schools of blackfin, yellowfin, and skippies. drag some feathers and small baits by them and you'll be into some sushi. that is my backyard, damn near grew up in boat harbor

I to will be goin on this trip and am interested to know how most catch billfish there? I hear the dolphins can be thick so at times it's bait and switch only? Any other advice would be great, thanks.

yogi is no longer with us. drug deal gone really bad. they found him in the salon of his boat, execution style. true shame, he was a great captain and one hell of a funny guy. dont know CJ.

the dolphin can be bad, but I dont know of anyone in MH that consistently does bait and switch. most guys just pull plugs since there is alot of ground to cover

Holy crap!!!! How do you follow a post like that.

I happen to have a map of Abaco on the wall in the office I took a couple pics with my phonecam. Hope this helps.

I used the Tilloo Cut from MH to cross the reef. It spits you in the Hopedale Pocket. Wonderland is due E and Jurassic is N I didn't really fish Tuna Road or Tristas. Hope it helps. At least some bearings. Have a great trip. Abaco rocks.

tilloo cut is a great shortcut to get out to the prime grounds, but if you have anything over 3.5-4' draft, you shouldnt run it. it gets skinny and has some hard turns. like i said in my previous post, if you want good consistent shots at bills, zig zag from the point off of elbow down to the hopetown pocket and back from 5-10 miles
