    Hays Hooks vs Jobus

Whatsup guys I have a question,

Right now in Hawaii the most popular style rig for blues and stripeys is a single stiff rigged jobu hook. I was wondering since i have no expirience using Hays hooks for billfish, has anyone on here have, and what has been your expirience with them been like in terms of strength, hook up ratios and life expectancy. The jobus have been pretty good for us, the only concern i have had lately is the do tend to rust quickly once scratched.
We are fishing all resin hawaiian style trolling lures.

    Any input would be appreciated!

Have used both here in NZ, and have had great results with hook ups and hook set on both styles of hooks.

The Hayes Hooks takes a little work to hone the hook for sharpness. Nevertheless, these hooks are strong.

With the Jobus to stop the rusting I use zinc anodes on the hooks. Owner themselves have a product called rust stop.

PM me and I will give you details where I get these products from, though if you are in Hawaii i'm sure Meltons or Pacific Ocean Producers would have something to help.

    Tight lines.......
