I' heading to hawks cay in october. i have afew questions. how is the fishing in oct? charter boats? restaurants? thanks john.

If you are staying in Hawks Cay, there are a few charter boats at their marina. I fished with Tailwalker - he is the most professional and is well known. He even has a show on Versus from time to time.

You can also go outside of Hawks Cay to Bud n Marys in Islamorada and there is a larger charter fleet there.

Between the gulf stream and the reefs there should be plenty of fishing to pick from that time of year.

Scott walker is the right guy , he is right there at Hawks Cay Marina . If you are going to eat at Hawks Cay Resort ... bring at lot of $.

Scott Walker gets my vote as well. Excellent off the reef or in the flats and bridges. October should be good fishing.
