I hear ya..I thought about it long and hard..until there was some smokin grey matter..then I asked a good friend and fellow killer fisherman what he thought..

in so many words:

"im a pretty basic guy..i use what i like..i use what has worked in the past..and will continue to do so..i think just call them what they are with some sizzle and keep the shape in the name..if they are Marlin lures..tell the people that..make it a series of em with diffrent shapes..obviously you can't tell a fish that..but if thats what they were designed for..tell em'..tell em the shape..KISS theory ya know.."

so thats' how the names were choosen..

few beers mixed in..lots of laughs..and heated discussions of what goes in what series..etc..actually wrote it down as we went thru them..

down the road..if a lure catches itself a REASON..to earn it's new stripes..it will.

Ain't my style to knock anyone....no, didn't say knock-off, but the skirt job leaves much to be desired....not the quaility of material, but how it's dressed or applied....but they'll still bite it...every day!

They are beautiful lures and i am sure they do work..

but like fess said.. if you take a look at the difference in the lure you are skirting and the bart.. you will specifically see the difference in skirting as fess did just bring up. Your have a small lip that runs around the aft end of the head.

sorry they are not up to your skirt standards, those are Ocean Lure Skirts..size 50..these lures should be done with the 40's..so the roll edge would be cleaner..i agree on the edge..the skirts you can't get much better in my opine..I skirted those in 20 mins..since they are first runs..I wasn't too fussy and the size 50's were easier to do quickly plus i didn't want to burn the 40's i have, had plenty 50's.

If I sent you one, you would take it..wouldn't ya?

Mabe a little $$ for the advertising on the site, if you are not already. Just a thought. I've seen a few sig's open for advertising resently.

I am sure he took it as just that.. constructive critisism... It was a valid point and i to saw it after you brought it up..

it explained the sizes of the skirts he used were not the right sizes..

Thank you for posting that. Before starting the threads about his lures he asked me for permission to post them and I told him to go ahead. He said he will advertise as soon as his online store is up in running.
