This time of year the way the weather windows close fast, it's nice to jump on a big boat with a professional Capt and mate. Heard good things about Capt Bob on the Fin Seeker so decided to go with him.

Crew was me, Lanie, Doug G, Doug O, Mike K, and Jon.
Nice to ride out to the fishing grounds in this position.
Not sure exactly where we fished but we had Diamond Shoals in our view the whole day and we fished mostly 40 to 50 fathoms. All meat spread deployed but no joy early in the am.
Mid morning we start connecting with some Blackfin starting small then going to medium sized. Capt runs over some good marks we break out the jigs. BTW, the boat has 4 nice jigging rods and some of us brought our own gear. Immediately connect with some nice sized Amberjacks. We did manage 1 Blackfin and several Fat Alberts but it was hard to get the jigs past the AJs.
Get back on the troll and early afternoon we start connecting with some nice YFT. One pass and 4 rods go down and we get 3 to the boat. Lanie gets the biggest one about 40 lbs.
Lanie's first time fighting a fish using a chair.
Mike Kim in the small chair.
Here is Lanie's 40 lb YFT and the biggest for the day. :clapping2:
Jon's nice YFT.
We did manage 1 lost mahi on the troll.
Final count (I think I got this about right)
7 Blackfin
7 YFT
1 mahi
4 Fat Albert
1 Skippy
countless AJs (kept a few for the box)
Happy crew.
Capt Bob (right) and Mate Jason (left).
We had a great experience aboard Fin Seeker and highly recommend this Capt and boat to anyone wanting a professionally run boat. His gear is top notch and well maitained. The mate Jason did an outstanding job all day long. You know you have a good mate when he is changing out baits at 2:30 pm knowing we are only fishing until around 3 pm.
Mike
