Blue Marlins going off!
Awesome fishing for the Hatteras fleet today, only about 10 boats or so in on the bite (11 Blues, 3 whites, 2 sails) Three boats had 2 blues. Everyone had atleast two shots, most had more.
here is my report......
Great Day.
Today was one of those magical days that we seem to have very few of.
It was sunny, slick calm and great fishing.
We caught a couple of dolphins right off the bat, and decided to work out a little deeper.
I noticed we were about where we had our blue marlin encounters yesterday, and I turned the Bite Me Southwest down the 100fathom curve.
Not really expecting it but a blue one came in and ate the Bruiser!
Micheal did an excellent job bringing the 250# blue one quickly to the leader!
We had another shot at a small billfish, but he did not stay hooked.
Shortly after that we had a beautiful Sail come into play.
Laura did terrific job catchin the sail on light tackle, although she did not think she could, everyone encouraged her, and she successfully brought it to the leader, jumpin all the way.
Later in the day Whitey gave us a shot, but he did not stay connected.
We got a couple of jumps out of him before the White Marlin was gone.
We caught a couple more nicer dolphins throughout the day as well.
Great to have the Schweitzer clan back aboard the bite me.
thanks guys and Congrats on the Bills!
