Great Day for the Artes Clan!
We only had 2 bites by two o'clock.
The good news was that we caught them both.
The best news was that they were both big blue marlins!
The first one was about 250# piled on the bruiser (big hole bent pole, rodney hooked him up) Jumped all over the spread, at one time I am crankin in teasers the next I am gunnin the boat because he is about to pass the boat jumpin. This guy went down and bulldogged Larry untill with the help of low gear he brought him to the leader where we took the hook out and got the bruiser pro back!
A little later in the day, we were trolling down sea and I noticed the tell tale dark shadow between the teaser and the flat line. I alerted paul, and he grabbed the dink bait flat line, just the the 400 pound blue marlin piled on my teaser. Paul cranked the dink bait to the boat and cranked in the bruiser up to her. She ate it and the fight was on. Jumpin crazy this one, big Girl. Eric got strapped in and the battle was on. This Big Girl stayed up top and we quickly got the leader, she gave a pretty display jumping on the leader. If you have never seen a 400 pound Blue Marlin jump straight up and tail walk 10' from the edge of the boat, you don't know what you are missin!
Late in the day, Larry Lee, and Tonda got their turns on some dolphins for dinner.
What a day.
