Hatteras Grand Slam Report - Day 1

We just finished Day 1 of the Hatteras Grand Slam Tournament.

24 boats entered - $17,595 total purse!

Gloomy forecast earlier in the week was wrong and we had a sunny and slick calm day, you could have been out there in a carolina skiff!

The marlins was maybee a little slow, but there was some action.

Here is the day 1 leader board:

1st - Runaway - 400 points (2sf)
2nd - Outlaw - 400 points (1sf,1wm)
3rd - Outer Limits - 200 points (1bm)

I don't know what the meat stadings are but I saw some fat gaffers and wahoos being weighed.

Other Billfish:

Jester - 1wm
Sea Creature - 1sf
Native Son - 1bm
Tuna Duck - 1sf

We were right beside the Native Son and watch his 300# blue one jump all over the dang ocean, caught on a tld!

We did not have a sighting aboard the bite me, hopefully tommorow is our day!

A good wack at a covey of them would heal us nicely!
