We see some big ones up here off North East Florida. They are really quick. Last summer (06) we hooked one that was well over a grand. It took 400 yards off of a 50 wide (100 pound mono/braid) with in seconds, and cut us off on another boats anchor line. If that thing wouldnt have broken off, I am sure we would have been spooled before we could have gotten the boat free from the anchor, and got after him. It was moving that quick.
Funny thing is, we see them a lot in our chum slick, but they are always really spastic compared to the tigers. Very picky about what they eat as well. It takes fresh king mackeral or bonita to entice them onto the hook!
