I heard it was a bad case of Id. The guy thought it was a mako. Then they started throwing their chests out when they found out it was a white. Then they went home very sad when they found out it was actually a $10000 ticket. oops.

I read in saltwater sportsman that mis-IDing a fish is one of the top 10 reasons for losing a world record. And in this case, #1 for losing 10g's.. Ha ha

Anybody know anymore details about it, how far out they caught it, how big it was, just curious
How can you mistake a white for a mako, they are very different, if you go sharking you should at least know what your quarry looks like. Sad
