I heard they caught it 8 miles out.It was a juvenile about 5' long.I guess thats why it was mis-IDed.They said it was being sent for dna testing to confirm it was a white.

If you don't know, you shouldn't go! In any case, if there's any doubt, send 'em back to the deep. Just like the morons who claim to have a mess to have a mess of BFT and they're all YFT.

Wouldn't worry about the morons that think they have BFT's and they are in fact YFT's.....The other way around might be a problem though.

Alex-
Juvey Whites look very much like Makos especially in the water. They are a tad darker (less blue imo). I released one about 80 pounds. I base my statement entirely on my experience, and if anyone has a differing opinion, thats ok. Not defending the guy just saying that when you get complacent on the water, you make mistakes. Oh by the way we saw a white on Thursday that was freakin huge. 15-17' I have never seen one that big- And it looked nothing like a Mako. When I saw it in the slick I was sure it was a whale until it got about 20 feet away. Jeezus that was big. We're about the 4 or 5th boat to see it in the general area of 20-30f line S of OC.
