The last couple of years we've been fishing inline Planers in the NEast canyons for Yellowfin and Albacore. On certain days, it's all the fish will hit.



We're now using a #16 Planer (Old Salty of course) on a Penn 80W with 200lb Jerry Brown braid. We typically run a Med. size ballyhoo on an Islander or Joe Shute lure. Just a little trick, if you only spool up the reel half way with braid, you increase the drag capability significantly and you can run a larger planer (and go deeper) than you would if the reel is full of braid.
