We left the dock at 5:30 am Thu 3/5 and headed back off to the Seabass grounds and just under 2 hrs. we were there. We stopped at our first set of numbers and caught a few fish nothing really great so we headed off to the second set of numbers and again didn't do well at all! So off we go to the third set and that's where we found the main school of Seabass. On our first drift we probably landed 20 or so nice size Seabass, then on the second drift which lasted about 50 mins we really found a school of bass that were absolutely huge and good numbers, we landed on that drift alone 70 keepers with the largest pulling the Boga down to just over 7 lbs. After that we had had a constant pick of large Bass! The charter did a great job landed double header Seabass with 70% of them being keepers. It's really nice when you don't have to measure the fish & just throw them in the baskets! All the fish were caught using Diamond & Shimano Butterfly jigs tipped with Reel Strips scented Squid strips. We ended the day at 2 pm with the boats limit of 25 per man with the biggest fish being absolutely Huge 29" and the Boga red 8.2 Lbs.
These fish should be here for another month so we're hoping we get a few more weather windows to get back out there to give some more of you guys a chance to get in on this great fishery!
Sorry guys, my camera died for some strange reason so I didn't get any pics of the trip at all. I promise the next trip I'll have a new camera.
